How to watch tonight's streaming-only Oilers-Flames game

Excitement is in the air in Alberta today as we are set to see the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames face off for the first time this season. Despite the two teams being in much different places in terms of contending status, the Battle of Alberta always draws plenty of eyeballs in what is one of the NHL’s biggest rivalries. This particular game comes at an interesting time, as the Oilers have come back down to earth their past two outings while the Flames are riding a four-game winning streak. Both fan bases will be hoping for a win to establish bragging rights. That said, those who plan to tune into the action won’t be able to do so on traditional television. That’s because the only place to watch this game will be on Amazon’s Prime Video service as part of their Wednesday Night Hockey programming. The good news is that the Wednesday Night Hockey programming comes at no additional cost to those who already have an Amazon Prime membership. For those who don’t, here’s a breakdown of the pricing packages: - Monthly: $9.99/month - Annually: $99/year - Students: $4.99/month or $49/year (after a 6-month free trial) Purchasing a membership will allow fans to watch the game through the Prime Video app on your Smart TV, streaming device, phone, or computer. All you need to do is click on the Sports tab in the main navigation menu, then click on the NHL logo of your respective team. This is the first of five Wednesday Night Hockey games for the Oilers this year, while the Flames have four. Additionally, the Oilers entered the season with nine games to be streamed exclusively on Sportsnet+, while the Flames have eight. Wednesday’s game will be one of four Battle of Alberta matchups this season, and the only one in this calendar year. The two sides will also meet up twice in March before a final head-to-head on Apr. 5 at Rogers Place.

About the news

How the news of ForBets works

Where the stories come from, how your feed is made and how to get an alert, with the terms of the news pages.

How the news feed works

The stories are collected from the news sources of the sports we cover, and each one says where it comes from. For some of them only the opening and a link to the original are shown: the full text is read on the site of the publisher, who owns it.

News has three tabs. Your feed shows the stories of the sports you follow, Discover shows every sport, and Saved holds the stories you kept to read later. You can search by headline or topic, narrow the list to one sport, and mark everything as read.

Yes. In your account, under Sports & alerts, choose the sports you follow and how you want to hear about each one: in the app, by push or by email. The bell in the header collects the new stories of your sports and the new picks of the analysts you follow.

News is for reading and does not recommend bets. For picks, open the list of matches and compare the analysts by their records. The two are kept apart on purpose: a story is a report, and a pick is an opinion that its author answers for.
