Spain Stun England 3-2 At Wembley In UEFA Nations League After Late Oyarzabal Winner And Kane Penalty Miss

An electrifying clash at Wembley Stadium saw Spain edge England 3-2 in a pulsating UEFA Nations League 2026-27 Group A3 opener. Spain struck first when teenage sensation Lamine Yamal curled home a brilliant opener in the 14th minute. However, England showed immense grit to turn the tide before halftime. Anthony Gordon ignited the comeback with a sharp, low finish in the 32nd minute before captain Harry Kane clinically headed home a Bukayo Saka cross just before the break to give the Three Lions a 2-1 lead. The second half delivered even more high-stakes drama. England squandered a golden chance to extend their advantage when Kane missed a crucial penalty early in the restart. That missed opportunity proved costly as the reigning European champions seized the momentum. Álex Baena equalized with a deflected effort in the 68th minute, and substitute Mikel Oyarzabal completed the stunning turnaround with a composed finish late in the match, sealing all three points for La Roja.

How the news of ForBets works

Where the stories come from, how your feed is made and how to get an alert, with the terms of the news pages.

The stories are collected from the news sources of the sports we cover, and each one says where it comes from. For some of them only the opening and a link to the original are shown: the full text is read on the site of the publisher, who owns it.

News has three tabs. Your feed shows the stories of the sports you follow, Discover shows every sport, and Saved holds the stories you kept to read later. You can search by headline or topic, narrow the list to one sport, and mark everything as read.

Yes. In your account, under Sports & alerts, choose the sports you follow and how you want to hear about each one: in the app, by push or by email. The bell in the header collects the new stories of your sports and the new picks of the analysts you follow.

News is for reading and does not recommend bets. For picks, open the list of matches and compare the analysts by their records. The two are kept apart on purpose: a story is a report, and a pick is an opinion that its author answers for.
