Roma Keep Rolling As Malen And Pisilli Seal Fourth Straight Serie A Win

Roma maintained their perfect start with a 2-0 victory over Torino at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on September 14. The visitors broke the deadlock shortly before half-time when Donyell Malen capitalised after Paulo Dybala intercepted a poor pass from Torino goalkeeper Lucas Perri. Torino had opportunities to respond after the break but struggled to turn their possession into a decisive equaliser. Roma eventually put the result beyond doubt in stoppage time, when Niccolo Pisilli finished from an angle after Gianluca Mancini kept the ball in play near the byline. The victory gave Gian Piero Gasperini’s side four wins from four league matches and kept them level with Inter at the summit on 12 points.

Eala risks $10,000 fine over Asian Games participation

Filipino tennis star faces WTA hurdle, possible fine to play for flag Alex Eala’s participation at the 2026 Asian Games is facing fresh uncertainty after Indonesia’s Janice Tjen reportedly had her appeal for an exemption rejected by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). Eala is one of the biggest names expected to compete at the Games in Japan. The Filipino tennis star is currently ranked 18 in the world after reaching the third round of the 2026 US Open, where she lost to 14th-ranked Iva Jovic. Eala has committed to representing the Philippines at the Asian Games and plans to skip the WTA-mandatory China Open in Shanghai. The Philippine Tennis Association (PHILTA) has already filed an exemption request with the WTA, according to GMA Network. However, Tjen’s situation has raised concerns over Eala’s chances of receiving similar rejection. The Indonesian, ranked No. 35 in the world, withdrew from the Asian Games after the WTA rejected her exemption appeal, according to the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Playing at the Asian Games without the approval of WTA would cost Eala a fine of up to $10,000 (Dh 36,725). She will also lose ranking points if she misses the China Open to compete in Japan, [...]

Officials raise concerns over accommodation shortages ahead of Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games

NAGOYA — Complaints about a shortage of accommodations for the upcoming Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games have been growing just four days before the opening, a sports official said Tuesday. As part of their cost-cutting and eco-friendly policies, organizers of the Asian Games did not build a dedicated athletes' village for this year's competition, instead providing accommodations on a cruise ship and in temporary container units, as well as hotels, for about 15,000 athletes and officials from 45 nations. The quadrennial multisport event will officially open on Saturday, with some sports, such as football and basketball, already under way. Under the accommodation plan, some 9,000 athletes will stay in hotels, while 4,000 will be housed on the cruise ship and 2,000 will stay in a complex of wooden container units. However, athletes have complained of room shortages, particularly in the container village. "For example, if the Games organizers had promised to offer 100 container rooms to a specific Olympic committee, they are short of some 20 rooms," said an official from the Korean Sport & Olympic

How the news of ForBets works

Where the stories come from, how your feed is made and how to get an alert, with the terms of the news pages.

The stories are collected from the news sources of the sports we cover, and each one says where it comes from. For some of them only the opening and a link to the original are shown: the full text is read on the site of the publisher, who owns it.

News has three tabs. Your feed shows the stories of the sports you follow, Discover shows every sport, and Saved holds the stories you kept to read later. You can search by headline or topic, narrow the list to one sport, and mark everything as read.

Yes. In your account, under Sports & alerts, choose the sports you follow and how you want to hear about each one: in the app, by push or by email. The bell in the header collects the new stories of your sports and the new picks of the analysts you follow.

News is for reading and does not recommend bets. For picks, open the list of matches and compare the analysts by their records. The two are kept apart on purpose: a story is a report, and a pick is an opinion that its author answers for.
