18-1 UFC Featherweight wants Alexander Volkanovski fight instead of Justin Gaethje superfight

UFC Featherweight contender Kevin Vallejos has staked his claim at a fight against Alexander Volkanovski for the 145lb title, should Volk survive against Movsar Evloev at UFC 333.
Speaking to MMA Fighting, Vallejos has claimed that he wants the current champ (who recently appeared in the Street Fighter movie alongside Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns) to retain the belt so he can get the big title fight at some point next year. Vallejos is set to face Aljamain Sterling in November, and if he beats the former champ in Doha, he will very likely be given a chance at the 145lb gold.
“I would like Volkanovski (to win at UFC 333),” Vallejos claimed. “I would like that because if I knock Sterling out, I would like to fight Volkanovski. I would like to take the title away from Volkanovski.
“Evloev also has everything he needs to win,” Vallejos continued. “He (Evloev) is 20-0, he has a very good record. But beating a guy who dominated the entire division for a long time — I think (beating Volkanovski holds) more weight when it comes to winning the title.”
