“A’ja Wilson & Sabrina Ionescu Absence Was Felt”: Fans React As Team USA Breaks Unwanted FIBA Record

Team USA won their second game 55-52 in the FIBA World Cup against Italy on Sunday. It was a close battle at the end as Italy almost overcame the USA.
It was a tough outing for everyone in the red jersey. In their narrow win, Team USA broke a FIBA record that they wouldn’t be proud of.
55 points tonight was the lowest-scoring World Cup game since 1971 for Team USA. Fans were stunned as they reacted to the unfortunate record.
“A’ja Wilson & Sabrina Ionescu absence was felt,” one fan said.
Head coach Kara Lawson praised Italy’s tenacity, dedication and passion. She also said that this close win will only make Italy better.
Kahleah Copper, Breanna Stewart, Jackie Young, Chelsea Gray and Napheesa Collier started the game. Uncharacteristically, there was only one player in the team who got points in double digits.
Young scored 10 points with 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Paige Bueckers had a decent game with 7 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks.
With some other average displays, one name that got attention for a really bad performance was Caitlin Clark. She could only score 1 point, shooting 0-6 from the field. She had 4 rebounds in a performance that did not really match Clark’s caliber.
