Lake Elsinore could soon be the home of a brand new luxury motor sports destination.

Former NASCAR driver Boris Said is developing a project called Elsinore Ring, a “Nürburgring-inspired” private motor sports playground.

The website for the project says it would feature a 3.2-mile racetrack with 22 turns, a private clubhouse with a rooftop pool, 275 luxury garage condominiums, a 500-person event center and “premium amenities designed to bring together a community of automotive enthusiasts.”

The circuit would be designed to FIA Grade 2 standards and could be divided into independent configurations, which allows multiple groups to drive at the same time, according to the track’s website.

A dedicated helipad would also sit on the clubhouse roof so visitors can easily bypass Southern California traffic.

Said, who co-operates a BMW dealership in Murrieta, said he drew inspiration from other racetracks around the world.

He hopes the new destination can also host professional races.

“I’ve had the opportunity to drive some of the best race tracks ever built,” Said stated on the track’s website. “And that experience has inspired a dream to build the ultimate private motorsport country club right here in Southern California.”

“…We appreciate the partnership and for wanting to showcase Lake Elsinore – as we are very proud about being the actions sports capital of the world!” Gina Gonzalez, director of economic development legislative affairs for the City Of Lake Elsinore, told Autoweek.

The track will be designed by Hermann Tilke and his firm, Tilke Engineers and Architects, prolific designers of modern Formula 1 circuits.

The proposal is still in development, but Said told Autoweek that funding is already lined up. If approved, construction can begin next year with a target opening in 2030.
