There’s been some big progress in the Nick Blakey deal with North Melbourne now set to offer pick 6 plus their 2028 first-round pick, and potentially a 2027 second-rounder, to Sydney.
However Seven’s Tom Morris also notes the offer will make it hard to get the Nick Murray deal done with the Crows reportedly seeking a 2026 pick in return for the key defender.
The Swans themselves are eyeing a surprise move with interest in delisted Carlton defender Zac Williams, reports Seven’s Mitch Cleary.
The 32-year-old could add halfback cover if Blakey departs, along with the looming absences of Callum Mills (ACL injury) and Harry Cunningham (move to Adelaide).
Williams could be signed using the new dedicated category B rookie spot for First Nations players. Clubs cannot re-sign their own players using the new rule, designed to boost Indigenous participation.
It would be Williams’ third AFL home after he began his career at GWS.

Meanwhile Essendon could add three more players over the next month with potential late moves for Brisbane’s Keidean Coleman and Geelong’s Gryan Miers still on the cards.
AFL Media’s Josh Gabelich reported the Bombers met with Coleman over the last 24 hours, and that he has now requested a trade to Tullamarine.
But the Lions are seeking a top-20 pick in return for the contracted halfback who was so impressive in the 2023 finals series before injuries derailed his career.
The Bombers hold picks 17, 21 and 27 giving them the potential assets to satisfy the premiers.
Down the highway, Gryan Miers’ future is again a point of contention, with his agent Liam Pickering interestingly walking back his prior public stance.
Pickering, who last week said on Channel Seven that Miers would be at Geelong next year, confirmed Essendon “enquired” about the half-forward and didn’t rule out the possibility of a move to Tullamarine.
“The next step is for Matt Rosa (Essendon list boss) to tell me ‘We’re in’, and then we start talking about the terms ... and then they’ve got to satisfy Geelong with a trade,” Pickering told Trade Radio.
“I think at this stage it would be unlikely, but things can change, and they can happen pretty quickly.”
Miers is contracted at Geelong through 2028, but was frustrated with elements of the handling of his ACL injury during this season. He has played 172 games at the Cats since 2017.

The Bombers are also expected to sign Bailey Banfield, who was delisted by Fremantle after the Grand Final.
The 28-year-old won the Jim Stynes Award on Brownlow night for his work in the community, having played 119 games across nine seasons in purple.
He could take one of the two extra rookie spots the Bombers were granted by the AFL as part of an assistance package, or be signed in the pre-season supplemental selection period.
Hawthorn completed its business with Gold Coast on Monday, agreeing to a trade deal sending young pair Aidan Schubert and Sam Butler to Carrara.
The agreement was centred on a 2028 second-rounder heading back the Hawks’ way, with a 2028 first-round pick swap and an exchange of later 2027 picks also part of the deal.
Hawthorn is, justifiably, banking on being the higher-ranked team on the ladder across the next couple of seasons.
Gold Coast’s long-winded pursuit of Schubert, who is set to sign on at the Suns for five years, comes after it became clear Ben King was headed towards a departure.
Elsewhere, Collingwood has again been forced to deny trade scuttlebutt surrounding Dan Houston — but without explicitly ruling it out.
It came after former Adelaide and Geelong forward Josh Jenkins revealed his surprising mail that the Magpies were “aggressively shopping” the dual All-Australian.
But dialled into Trade Radio, a Collingwood spokesperson said: “Dan Houston has not come up in any trade discussions.”
There aren’t any confirmed rival players for Houston, but the Saints loom as a destination that makes sense, given their attempts to improve across the half-backline.
“If he’s available (St Kilda should look at him) — based on the needs that they’re after,” ex-Carlton coach Michael Voss said on Trade Radio on Monday.
“If you’re St Kilda, why wouldn’t you ask that question? … That just comes down to a cost thing.”

Richmond, meanwhile, reportedly remains the frontrunner for Pick 5, which Port Adelaide is openly shopping ahead of next month’s draft.
Multiple reports state a potential Tigers package for the prized selection could revolve around Pick 22 and their 2027 first-rounder.
Meanwhile, the mooted Lachie Whitfield-to-Carlton move hasn’t progressed in recent days.
The Blues have reportedly offered the Giants a pick in the 20s — with Carlton currently holding Picks 25 and 26 early in the second round as it stands — but that hasn’t flown.
SEN’s Sam Edmund says it “might go down to deadline day”, but added he believes it will eventually get done.
The Giants went into the player movement period open to dealing Whitfield, contracted through 2027, while the rebounder became keen on a move after reportedly expressing initial shock at learning he was on the trade table.
