India showcased a commanding all-round performance to capture the title. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma set a strong foundation with a record 129-run opening partnership, leading India to 183 for five in their 20 overs. Sree Charani spearheaded the bowling attack with four wickets for 20 runs from four overs, while Deepti Sharma contributed three wickets for 19 runs in her four overs.

In response, Sri Lanka faced an early setback when pacer Kranti Gaud dismissed Imesha Dulani on the fourth delivery of the innings, despite Dulani scoring a boundary off the first ball. The chasing side could not recover, ultimately falling short by 72 runs.

India elected to bat after winning the toss. Following the strong opening stand, Indian batswomen struggled to make significant contributions, with captain Harmanpreet Kaur scoring 14 runs off 14 balls and Richa Ghosh making 17 from 13 balls. Bharti Fulmali added a quick 15 not out from five balls, including a four and a six, helping India reach their total.

Sri Lanka’s Mithali Ayodhya and Chamari Athapaththu were the most economical bowlers, taking one wicket each while conceding 33 and 34 runs respectively in their four-over spells.
