Andy Williams, better known in professional wrestling as The Butcher and formerly the guitarist of Every Time I Die, suffered a medical incident during an independent wrestling event on Saturday, September 5. The incident resulted in the show being cancelled.

Former Every Time I Die guitarist Andy Williams, who wrestles as The Butcher, was hospitalized after collapsing during an independent wrestling match in Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 5. Williams was competing at Enjoy Wrestling’s “Five Years” event at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Millvale, where he teamed with longtime partner The Blade (Jesse Guilmette) in an Enjoy Tag Team Championship bout.

The match was allowed to reach its scheduled finish, but Williams remained on the canvas after the pinfall and was unable to get back to his feet. Paramedics quickly entered the ring to treat him, with emergency personnel reportedly performing chest compressions and using a defibrillator before he was taken to a local hospital by ambulance. Enjoy Wrestling subsequently called off the rest of the event.

Enjoy Wrestling later confirmed the medical emergency in a statement shared on social media. “Andy collapsed at the end of his match this evening,” the promotion stated. “Our doctors on staff tended to him immediately, administering CPR until the ambulance arrived.” The promotion added, “We sent everyone home and are at the hospital now waiting for more information. Thanks to everyone who helped and has reached out.”

The incident came a day after Williams and The Blade had hosted an advanced wrestling seminar for independent performers in Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood. Williams has spent years balancing wrestling with music, establishing himself on the independent circuit as The Butcher and previously making appearances for All Elite Wrestling.

Williams is best known to music fans as a founding member and guitarist of Every Time I Die, who split in 2022. He has since continued his wrestling career while also playing guitar in Atomic Rule. As of now, no further official information about Williams’ condition has been released following his hospitalization.
