Anthony Joshua, the former two-time world heavyweight champion, has reportedly finalised a deal worth over N17billion (£10 million) with Netflix for a four-part documentary series chronicling his life and boxing career.

The documentary, expected to premiere in spring 2027, will cover Joshua’s rise to global boxing prominence, difficult early years, major defeats and personal losses, with his December 11, 2026 showdown against fellow British heavyweight Tyson Fury expected to feature prominently.

According to The Sun, as reported by The Times of India, the documentary has been in development for several years and will offer viewers an insight into aspects of Joshua’s life and career beyond his performances in the ring.

The series is expected to revisit Joshua’s 2011 arrest for cannabis possession and his shock defeat by Andy Ruiz Jr. at Madison Square Garden in 2019, when he suffered the first loss of his professional career.

It will also examine some of the personal losses that have shaped Joshua’s life, including the deaths of his close friends and team members, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.

Ghami and Ayodele died in a car crash in Nigeria in December 2025. According to The Sun, Joshua wanted the difficult period included in the documentary as part of the story of his personal and professional journey.

The reported Netflix deal comes as Joshua prepares for his blockbuster fight against Fury, adding a major commercial and global-media dimension to the bout.

The December 11 contest is expected to provide a major chapter in the documentary, bringing together Joshua’s sporting career, personal story and rivalry with one of Britain’s biggest heavyweight names.
