Arch Manning and Jeremiah Smith Are Already Driving NFL Scouts Crazy

The Indianapolis Colts had their eyes glued to Saturday’s Ohio State versus Texas game, and trust me, they weren’t the only ones! Ryan Fowler dropped the news that multiple NFL teams had reps at this absolute showdown.

You can’t blame them for showing up. This wasn’t just some college ball game, folks. We’re talking about a high-profile clash between two top-five teams. It’s a no-brainer for scouts and personnel execs to be there, it’s literally part of the evaluation process for building towards the 2027 NFL draft. There’s no doubt the Colts had people at other games this weekend too, doing their homework.

While Fowler didn’t specify who from the Colts was in attendance, we can take a peek at PFF’s big board to see who they might have been watching. From Ohio State, wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is sitting at #1 overall, with quarterback Julian Sayin right behind him at #2. Guard Austin Siereveld is at #21 and Luke Montgomery at #65. Over on the Texas side, edge rusher Colin Simmons is ranked #4, followed by quarterback Arch Manning at #6. Tackle Trevor Goosby is #10, wide receiver Cam Coleman at #12, and linebacker Rasheem Biles at #33. These are the future stars, and teams like the Colts are already putting in the work.

The 2027 NFL Draft might seem far off, but the talent hunt is officially on. Every snap these guys take means something to teams like the Colts who are building their future. It’s never too early to start scouting the next big thing, and these prospects are definitely worth keeping an eye on.
