Arman Tsarukyan claims talks have already taken place with the UFC regarding his next fight

Arman Tsarukyan spoke to the UFC brass following his spectacular UFC 331 performance.
This past Saturday, the premier MMA promotion returned to Los Angeles, California, for UFC 331, headlined by a flyweight title fight between Joshua Van and Alexandre Pantoja.
The co-main event, though, was the fight most fans were looking forward to the most, as Arman Tsarukyan took on Mauricio Ruffy in what was potentially a lightweight number one contender clash.
The Armenian star went on to score the first round knockout after landing a huge elbow on Ruffy’s chin, scoring his sixth win in a row, making himself almost undeniable.
Who could ever claim to deserve a shot above 'Batman' following his massive KO
Immediately after his win over the Brazilian contender, the 29-year-old took the chance to call out the lightweight champion, Justin Gaethje, who Tsarukyan called ‘scared’.
Despite that, ‘Batman’ also claimed that he would like to return to fight once more before the end of the year, highlighting December as an ideal date for him to return.
And although it is unlikely that Gaethje returns before the end of the year, Tsarukyan has claimed that the UFC have already begun working on his next fight being for the undisputed strap.
“Yes, brother (I’ve earned a title shot), of course it means that,” Tsarukyan told Adam Zubayraev when talking about his celebration and brief interaction with Dana White.
“How can I not deserve a title fight? I scored the finish in the first round, what else do they want? I got a bonus,” he continued.
“Well, we just know Dana White’s attitude (towards you), he makes unexpected decisions in that direction,” his friend responded to him.
“I talked with them, so everything is fine. They are working on that, that the next fight will be for the title,” Tsarukyan revealed.
Despite past worries about whether Tsarukyan will be treated fairly by the UFC, White had some glowing praise of the 29-year-old following the fight, touching on how he has completely transformed his opinion of him over the past year or so.
White said he couldn’t have had a better comeback after finding himself in the UFC’s bad books last year because of his pre-fight head butt on Dan Hooker.
Although the Armenian now seems to be in line for a title shot, there is still a question mark over whether ‘The Highlight’ will return to action, or if he will retire from the sport.
Not only that, but Gaethje also now seems to be entertaining a potential rematch with Ilia Topuria, which would leave Tsarukyan on the sidelines again.
Someone he could fight in the meantime, if he was adamant about staying active, is Paddy Pimblett. ‘The Baddy’ is also one or two wins away from a title shot, and has a well-documented dislike for Tsarukyan.
Pimblett wasn’t impressed with Tsarukyan’s performance at UFC 331, and in fact, it made him believe that a fight against the 29-year-old would be easier than he initially believed.
