Asian Games 2026 Archery: India Wins 9 Medals, Check Full List of Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal Winners and LA 2028 Qualification

India wrapped up its Asian Games 2026 campaign in Aichi-Nagoya on a high, finishing fourth in the overall medal standings with 85 medals, including 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze. The Indian contingent produced a strong finish on the final day, adding five gold, two silver and two bronze medals across cricket, hockey, archery, golf and wrestling. India ended level with Uzbekistan on 21 gold medals but secured fourth place by virtue of a higher silver-medal count.

Archery emerged as one of India’s biggest medal-winning sports at the Games, contributing nine medals to the overall tally. The impressive haul included five gold, two silver and two bronze medals, underlining the depth of India’s archery contingent across both individual and team events. Here is a complete breakdown of the Indian archers who won medals at the Asian Games 2026.

India’s 12-member archery contingent delivered one of its strongest performances at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, finishing with nine medals across the 10 events. The tally featured five gold, two silver and two bronze medals, matching the nine-medal haul achieved at Hangzhou 2023. The recurve archers were particularly impressive, reaching the podium in all five events with two gold, two silver and one bronze. India also picked up two important LA 2028 Olympic quota places, with Kumkum Mohod securing a women’s individual recurve spot and Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav earning a place in the mixed compound team event.

Kumkum was at the heart of India’s historic recurve campaign, returning home with three medals, including two golds. The 17-year-old became the first Indian to win an individual recurve gold at the Asian Games after overcoming reigning world champion and Olympic medallist Kang Chaeyoung of South Korea in the quarter-finals. She had earlier teamed up with Ankita Bhakat and Kirti Sharma to win India’s maiden women’s recurve team gold, beating South Korea in the final and ending their seven-edition winning streak in the event. Kumkum completed her medal haul with a silver alongside Dhiraj Bommadevara in the mixed recurve team event.

The men’s recurve team of Dhiraj, Neeraj Chauhan and Yashdeep Bhoge also secured silver, while Dhiraj made an early statement by topping the qualification round with an Asian Games record score of 698. Both Dhiraj and Neeraj missed out in their respective individual semi-finals before meeting in the bronze-medal contest, where Neeraj came out on top to win his first individual Asian Games medal. India’s compound archers were equally dominant, winning all three team golds. Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha and Prithika Pradeep retained the women’s team title with a world record-equalling 238 against China, before Chikitha and Sahil claimed mixed team gold in a shoot-off against South Korea.

Sahil, Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru and Kushal Dalal then completed India’s clean sweep of the compound team events, while Ganesh added a bronze in the men’s individual competition. The women’s individual compound event was the only archery competition where India failed to win a medal. Overall, the nine-medal haul underlined India’s growing strength across both recurve and compound archery, while Kumkum’s historic golds and the two Olympic quota places made the Aichi-Nagoya campaign an important milestone on the road to LA 2028.
