Best anytime TD scorer props for Lions vs. Bills on Thursday Night Football

The best Anytime TD Scorer bets for the Week 2 Thursday Night Football matchup between the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills feature high-value options targeting vulnerable pass defenses.
Best anytime TD scorer props for Lions vs. Bills on Thursday Night Football

The NFL Week 2 Thursday Night Football matchup should be an exciting game for sports wagering. The Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills field two of the NFL’s best offenses.

Both teams put up 30-plus points in Week 1, but also allowed 30 or more.

Picking the best anytime TD scorers for such a matchup might seem easy, but the odds for two of the prime offensive players aren’t appealing. Before you place one of these bets, review the best Michigan sportsbook promos to claim hundreds of dollars in bonuses.

NOTE: The DraftKings Sportsbook odds below were accurate at the time of publication but are subject to change.

The first thing you might notice on these prop bets is that I do not recommend running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and James Cook. That is because of their odds (Gibbs at -320 and Cook at -180).

Those are not odds we want to work with, but Gibbs and Cook do appear in our TD rundown in another market.

Best odds: -180 on DraftKings

If this game is as high-scoring as projected, one of the game’s premier running quarterbacks will be a threat to register a TD. He can score from near the goal line or on a longer run. Last week’s game vs. Houston exemplified how the Bills superstar can score from anywhere.

Allen rushed for two TDs against the supposedly stiff Texans defense, one from 21 yards and one from the 1-yard line. He is a master of the QB sneak near the goal line and becomes ultra-dangerous inside the 20-yard line. The Lions expect Allen to test their defense.

Allen has scored 14 of his last 16 rushing TDs inside the 20-yard line. You can also bet on him to score 2+ TDs at +400.

You get plus-money odds on a guy who caught two TD passes in Detroit’s season-opening win vs. New Orleans. Houston wide receiver Nico Collins caught a 12-yard TD pass vs. the Bills last week.

The Bills registered three sacks last week but will have to rattle Jared Goff with pass pressure often to prevent him from connecting with St. Brown for another TD.

If the Lions can establish the ground game, then Goff will have more time to pick apart the pass defense and surely hit his top wide receiver in the end zone.

Moore is the true No. 1 WR the Bills have been missing. He became heavily involved in the passing game in his first game with Buffalo. He caught five of eight targets for 100 yards and a TD. The scoring reception was 43 yards.

The secondary remains an issue for Detroit. Cornerback D.J. Reed was burned often by New Orleans, and he is listed as questionable with a foot injury. Top safeties Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch are both on the PUP list.

The Buffalo defense must account for Gibbs and St. Brown, so Williams may be more free to roam for a downfield score.

Williams is the team’s best deep threat, and the Lions hope that he emerges as a well-rounded WR this season. This is a good matchup to show he will improve in 2026.

Shakir is a good option in a friendlier matchup like this one. He is a slippery WR who can make the Detroit defensive backs pay for their aggressiveness. A catch-and-run TD by Shakir is possible.

Odds: +1000 on DraftKings

Of course, we want to include a long shot. Vaki appears to be Gibbs’ top backup and would be first in line to steal a rushing TD.

Detroit can score more than twice on the ground in a shootout, and Vaki might be popped in at the goal line to give Gibbs a breather, especially after the starting RB rips off a long run to set up a TD.

Gibbs best odds: +155 on DraftKings

Cook best odds: +300 on DraftKings

Gibbs rushed for two TDs against the Saints, and you will get a better return on your wager here. The Bills allowed ex-Lion David Montgomery to rush for two TDs last week, and Gibbs can score from anywhere on the field as a runner or receiver. He is arguably the NFL’s most explosive RB.

Stopping the run was easier against Houston, but Buffalo’s defense is still transitioning to a different scheme. Cook will attempt to keep pace with Gibbs. He has rushed for 28 TDs over the past two seasons and should get chances to finish off more than one scoring drive.
