The Team USA lineup is complete ahead of the Presidents Cup — and Bryson DeChambeau will not be involved.
The Presidents Cup will see the United States take on the Rest of the World at Medinah. Brandt Snedeker is the captain of Team USA, and he submitted his picks to join the qualified players on his roster earlier this week, with DeChambeau omitted.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler — who won the PGA Tour's Tour Championship last week — was joined by Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, Russell Henley, and Collin Morikawa as those who qualified for the team outright. They have been joined by six more names: Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, Justin Thomas, Chris Gotterup, Jacob Bridgeman, and Jackson Koivun.
The decision to select the 21-year-old sensation Koivun is a particularly interesting move by Snedeker, especially with DeChambeau absent. The two-time U.S. Open champion is a name many believe should be representing his country, but it is not possible.
As the President’s Cup is an event run by the PGA Tour, no LIV Golf players are eligible to compete. As a result, DeChambeau will not compete.

However, DeChambeau’s absence may be a blessing in disguise for Team USA. He suited up for the team at the Ryder Cup last year, playing in all five matches over the week at Bethpage Black — but he only secured 1.5 points and even fell to Matt Fitzpatrick in Sunday Singles.
Also, Team USA is not the only lineup affected by the ban on LIV Golf players. In-form Australians Lucas Herbert and Cameron Smith won’t be involved, and neither will the likes of Louis Oosthuizen, Joaquin Niemann, and Carlos Ortiz.
International Team is captained by Geoff Ogilvy, and his team features Si-woo Kim, Ryan Fox, Hideki Matsuyama, Min Woo Lee, Tom Kim, and Adam Scott. Ogilvy added six others with his picks, bringing in Corey Connors, Sung-jae Im, Ryo Hisatsune, Nico Echavarria, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, and Nick Taylor.
Ahead of the 2022 edition of the tournament, DeChambeau spoke about the ban on LIV Golf players. He said: “I personally think that the team events are only hurting themselves by not allowing us to play, not allowing us to qualify through some capacity, in some facet.
“I’m a golf fan, first and foremost. I'm going to watch golf wherever it's played with some of the best players in the world, whoever it is.
“I think that this will become something special, even more special than what it is now, and moving forward in the future, I'll still watch other tournaments that I've won and done well at before.”
The 2026 Presidents Cup will take place over four days, teeing off on Thursday, September 24.
