Caitlin Clark's historically bad night sees WNBA miss out on Golden Goose game

The WNBA missed out on a Golden Goose playoff clash between rivals Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese following the Indiana Fever star’s historically poor performance.
Clark and the Fever finished as the No. 6 seed heading into playoff season following their blowout 86-66 defeat to the No. 1 Minnesota Lynx on Thursday night. Clark managed just two points despite playing 18 minutes on the court.
The defeat saw the Washington Mystics finish No. 5, which will pit them against Reese and the Atlanta Dream in the first round. Meanwhile, the Fever will have to defeat the defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces. The Clark-Reese rivalry has been one of the WNBA’s main selling points since both entered the league in 2024.
