Calling on Death Valley: Lane Kiffin highlights the keys for LSU to come out on top against Alabama
LSU Football is coming out of the bye week sitting at 3-2 in SEC play with the Alabama Crimson Tide heading into Death Valley for a week 10 matchup with huge college football playoff implications.
Kalen DeBoer and the Tide come to Baton Rouge looking to continue their win streak over LSU.
Both teams are coming out of their bye week but last time out for Alabama, Keelon Russell threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns in a win against the Texas A&M Aggies.
When asked how to stop the Alabama offense, LSU Head Coach Lane Kiffin said that the pass rush needs to get in the backfield and the LSU fans need to show up ready to break the record.
“I don’t think it’s any secret you got to cover guys so guys can’t get in rhythm and then let our pass rush and our crowd go to work,” Coach Kiffin said.
Kiffin also highlighted that we’ve seen how to beat Alabama before and it happened up in Knoxville. The Tennessee crowd broke the record for loudest stadium noise and Kiffin wants to replicate that atmosphere on Saturday.
“You know, Tennessee supposedly set the noise record against Alabama, which you could see in that game and affecting Alabama’s offense and that was a 2:30 central kick, so, let’s break the record,” Coach Kiffin said.
He also had a message for fans, asking them to move their game-time routines up a few hours.
“So if you’re used to 6:30, four hours earlier, start your day earlier, have breakfast earlier, start drinking earlier, whatever it is that your routine is, just move it up,” Coach Kiffin said. “Go to bed earlier Friday night.”
