Charles Robert Innis, III passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026 at his home in The Villages, FL at the age of 82 with his family by his side providing love, care and comfort. He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be dearly missed.

Charles (known as Terry) was born in Philadelphia, PA, to Charles R. Innis, Jr and Nancy Powell Innis on March 31, 1944. He is celebrated by his sons and beloved wife, Charlene (Char) Innis to whom he was married for 58 years. Together they are blessed to have raised three amazing young men: Steven (Kristin), Michael and Andrew (Alita/Tita). He is also celebrated by his brother, Jeffrey Powell Innis (Pat) from Moultonborough, NH, where the family has vacationed for many years on Lake Winnipesaukee. Terry also leaves behind his dearly loved grandchildren: Jake, Garrett, Kyle, and Andrew (Ollie).

Terry graduated from Swarthmore High School and then earned his Engineering Degree from Dartmouth College Thayer School of Engineering. He played four seasons of Lacrosse. His team won the Ivy League Championship in ’64 and ’65.

His professional career was engineering for Procter & Gamble, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, overseeing several projects and start-ups. Two of his assignments required moves to Alexandria, Louisiana and to Caracas, Venezuela with the family.

Terry enjoyed sports, boating, travel, history, patriotism and music. He also enjoyed designing and woodworking projects. In prior years one of his favorite pastimes was preparing the music for the Thursday Ladies Bible Study at Village Park. Over the years he volunteered at our Ohio church serving as a Deacon and then as an Elder.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at 2:00 pm at Village Park Church, 1st Baptist located on 466A in The Villages. We wish to express our gratitude to the staff at Cornerstone Hospice and to Visiting Angels for their care and support. For the many cards and prayers we’ve received. Thank you.
