Chicago Fire FC’s Chris Brady called in by USMNT for international window, expected to miss two MLS games

Chicago Fire FC’s Chris Brady will once again represent the United States Men’s National Team during the upcoming international window.
Brady, 22, was among the 26 players selected by USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino to represent the club during their four friendlies that will take place in the United States between September 26 and October 6
If Brady remains with the USMNT for the entire international window, he will miss the Chicago Fire’s MLS match against Charlotte FC on September 26 and their rescheduled contest against the Vancouver Whitecaps on October 6. The Chicago Fire’s Homegrown goalkeeper has been the only person who has seen minutes in goal for the Men In Red in any competition in 2026 and Josh Cohen, who was acquired in the offseason, is expected to play in Brady’s absence with Jeff Gal serving as the emergency ‘keeper.
Brady has become as close as there has been to a regular depth piece in goal for Pochettino since he got his first senior USMNT call-up in 2025 and earned his first cap on May 31, 2026 when he played 45 minutes against Senegal in a FIFA World Cup tuneup in Charlotte. The Naperville native then spent the entire FIFA World Cup as the USMNT’s third goalkeeper before returning to the Fire and appearing in all 14 MLS and Leagues Cup contests Chicago has competed in.
Brady, who has been the Chicago Fire’s full-time starting goalkeeper since 2023, will once again be with the USMNT in their first international window after the group was eliminated by Belgium in the FIFA World Cup Round of 16. The USMNT will face Peru on September 26 in Orlando, Chile on September 29 in St. Louis, Mexico on October 3 in Glendale and Canada on October 6 in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
