The college basketball community has been left in mourning after the death of University of Evansville star Jordan Scott following a late night crash in Indiana.

The sophomore guard passed away late Sunday evening after driving a friend home in Warrick County, according to local officials.

Authorities indicated Scott was traveling through an unfamiliar area near the town of Boonville when her car struck a utility pole.

News of the crash prompted an immediate wave of tributes from across the college basketball community, with both the University of Evansville and her former junior college program mourning the loss on Monday.

Scott graduated from Castle High School in Newburgh in 2025 and spent her freshman campaign at Wabash Valley College before transferring to Evansville this summer to play alongside her sister, Jayden.

Her former team was among the first to react, sharing a grief-stricken tribute on social media.
