Dana White insists the ‘heavyweight division will just keep rolling’ in new Tom Aspinall update

It’s been 319 days since Tom Aspinall’s first heavyweight title defense ended in disaster.
Ciryl Gane‘s eye pokes left the Englishman needing multiple surgeries after their no-contest at UFC 321.
‘Bon Gamin’ appeared to set up a rematch by knocking out Alex Pereira to win an interim heavyweight title at UFC Freedom 250 in June, but it’s looking more and more likely that Tom Aspinall will not be his next opponent.
In recent days, Alex Pereira, Ciryl Gane, and Josh Hokit have all been calling each other out on social media.
This has left fans wondering why none of the top heavyweights are trying to fight the division’s true champion.
Dana White was quizzed about Tom Aspinall during a press conference after the Contender Series on Tuesday evening.
“No,” the UFC CEO said when asked if there is an update on Aspinall.
“Tom Aspinall is hurt until we hear differently.
“So, the heavyweight division will just keep rolling.”
Dana White says Tom Aspinall is still hurt:
"Tom Aspinall is hurt. Until we hear differently, the heavyweight division will keep rolling."
Tom Aspinall has been quiet while waiting for the all-clear from doctors to fight again.
The most recent update came from his manager Eddie Hearn, who claimed ‘additional testing’ is needed before Aspinall can return to MMA.
“The only thing that we have to look at is when Tom Aspinall will be ready to return, and that’s not when he will be ready to return from a mindset perspective,” the boxing promoter told Bloody Elbow.
“That’s from a commission perspective in terms of his injuries, which shows you what he has been through. If the commission won’t let him fight, then you know how serious the injuries were.
“Not saying that’s the case, but that’s the position we need to get to in order for him to return to the [octagon]. He’s motivated, and I can’t give you an exact date yet, but what I can tell you is he wants to get back in there as soon as he is physically able to do so.”
“It all depends on whether he’ll be ready,” Hearn added about a rumored November return. “He’s going to have to go through some additional testing to make sure he’s good to return, but he wants to fight.”
