Dana White loudly booed as Turki Alalshikh thanks the UFC boss at Fury vs Joshua press conference

The UFC president did not travel to London for Wednesday’s event, but he still received a mention.
Confusion continues to surround Dana White’s involvement in the upcoming heavyweight superfight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.
The long-awaited clash of former British champions even appeared to be in jeopardy due to the UFC and Zuffa Boxing chief’s role in the bout, which apparently went against a clause in Anthony Joshua’s contract.
Things got back on track with the announcement of a launch press conference on September 30, which went ahead without White in attendance.
White has been going back and forth with Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, about his alleged role in the heavyweight megafight.
The all-British showdown is set to take place on December 11 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
The UFC boss insisted he would be involved in the bout, though exact details have been hard to extract from him.
While that threw doubt over it even happening, things evidently got squared away before the launch press conference.
White did not attend the presser and was not on the list of promoters read out by Michael Buffer at the start of it. He did, however, get a mention from Turki Alalshikh, who sat alongside a different TKO executive in Nick Khan.
The chairman of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia gave a big thanks to White despite referring to his absence from the press conference as ‘sudden’.
When he did, the crowd behind Alalshikh erupted into a chorus of loud boos.
Dana White was just booed at the Fury vs Joshua press conference
That perhaps demonstrates the public opinion on the decision to insert White into the Fury vs Joshua promotion.
Fans have urged White to pull out of his role amid talk of it putting the bout in doubt.
After missing the press conference, it’s unclear what role, if any, the UFC and Zuffa Boxing boss will play in the lead-up to December 11.
