Dana White says ex-WWE star Jake Hager’s Power Slap injury is probably worse than any in UFC history

Dana White said doctors had never seen anything like Jake Hager’s strange injury before.
Last year, Alexandre Pantoja lost the UFC flyweight title after injuring his arm in a stunning reminder of how unpredictable the sport can be.
The MMA promotion’s boss believes that an injury that took place before ‘The Cannibal’ gets his chance to reclaim the belt tomorrow night trumps all others.
Hager was knocked out in his second Power Slap outing in July, with his attempt to bounce back from this defeat ending in strange fashion.
Let us know in the comments which injury inside the Octagon was the hardest to watch.
Having already exchanged two slaps each, Jake Hager’s contest with Johnny ‘The New Mexican Badass’ Magna on Thursday night came to a concerning end.
The third slap delivered by Magna resulted in his opponent starting to bleed from his left eye.
Dana White shared his reaction to the injury that the former WWE star and 3-0 MMA fighter suffered when speaking during Nina Drama’s stream.
“Not good. That’s probably the worst injury we’ve had in the UFC, in Power Slap, anything,” White said, in a clip from the stream that was reposted by Jed I. Goodman on X.
Many of the complaints surrounding Power Slap have been about how much damage the competitors take due to being unable to defend themselves.
White went on to say that even the doctors that attended to Hager were left stunned by the injury, with him assuring that the promotion will do whatever they can to help him recover.
“It looks like his tear duct ruptured,” he added. “Something like that. Something crazy. But, I don’t give a f— if we have to fly a doctor in from f—— Germany, we’re gonna get this guy taken care of. The doctors said they’ve never seen it before.”
During Dana White sharing his reaction to this injury, the UFC president revealed he made the call to not have this moment shown again on the broadcast.
Even some of the most gruesome injuries that have ever occurred inside the Octagon have been replayed for those watching live and on the big screens inside the building.
“I wouldn’t even let our guys replay it,” White said. “I’m a replay f—— lunatic. I was like, ‘Nobody needs to see that s—.’”
