Dana White says only 3 matches in history will have a higher gate than Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua

UFC and Zuffa Boxing boss Dana White is expecting some big numbers on December 11.
On that date, the long-awaited boxing match between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
Fans have long wanted to see the former British heavyweight champions sharing the ring, and although it’s coming to fruition years late for many people’s liking, excitement is still high.
The rapid ticket sales evidenced that on Friday, and Dana White has revealed the estimated gate after boxing enthusiasts flocked to secure their seats.
Will Joshua's huge KO power prevail, or will 'The Gypsy King's' elite footwork and movement give him the edge?
Tickets for the ‘Battle of Britain’ went on sale via Ticketmaster on October 9. The venue can hold more than 70,000 people, and White claimed on Friday that less than 700 remain.
The most expensive regular seats cost in excess of $17,000, with the cheapest Fury vs Joshua tickets being available for $117.
Over half a million fans entered the queue to secure a ticket for the huge heavyweight clash in Cardiff, making a sellout guaranteed.
White claims to be promoting Fury vs Joshua and has no doubt that it will bring in the biggest gate in the history of British boxing.
Globally, the UFC and Zuffa Boxing lead is expecting the fight to fall short of only three other lucrative matches.
“There were over 500,000 people in the (Ticketmaster) queue. Incredible,” White told Sky Sports.
“But for our generation, two of the biggest, most famous heavyweights in boxing. And not even arguable it’s the biggest UK fight ever between two British heavyweights.
“Definitely, it will (be the most lucrative gate in British boxing history). I don’t want to mis-speak here but we have this thing scaled for around $34 million,” he added.
If that number is accurate, Fury vs Joshua would go down as the fourth biggest boxing gate in history.
Top of the pile is Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao at $72.2 million, with ‘Money’s’ bout against Conor McGregor in second at $55.4 million.
White was involved in the third biggest boxing gate of all time, which is the $47.2 million achieved by Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford 13 months ago.
