Daniel Dubois vs Fabio Wardley LIVE: Full fight card, latest updates and results

Daniel Dubois completed a demolition job of Fabio Wardley in their instant rematch on Saturday evening, stopping his heavyweight rival in two rounds to retain his WBO title. There were many unanswered questions following the pair of pugilists' initial bout back in May, given Wardley knocked down Dubois in the first and third rounds only for 'DDD' to weather the storm and secure an 11th-round technical knockout (TKO).
However, any speculation was quashed once and for all at London's O2 on Saturday evening, with Dubois making light work of his Wardley. It took the 28-year-old just 17 seconds to force a count from referee Steve Gray, walking Wardley down into a corner before catching him flush with a flash overhand right.
While 'War' managed to weather the storm and survive a relentless onslaught from the hometown hero, Gray taking an incredibly close look on two occasions, it was ultimately the beginning of the end for the 31-year-old's contest. 'Dynamite' got the finish he was looking for with less than a minute remaining in the second, pushing the Ipswich-born bruiser back toward the ropes with a looping left, following up with a few solid right hooks and an uppercut before Wardley's corner threw the towel in.

It meant that Dubois was able to successfully defend his WBO heavyweight title in convincing fashion, as the British titan looks for big-money fights in 2027. Asked by DAZN after the win regarding his plans for the new year, he explained: "Whoever's next in line really. I'm the champion now and I want to get some big fights in now. This stage of my career, big money, big fights. You're the man, Frank [Warren], yeah?"
Queensberry chief, Warren, meanwhile, hinted at potential unification bouts next year, as he said: "It looks like unification fights. We're going to find out who is the best, who's going to fight for the four belts. That's what we're working towards, that's what they all want.
"They want big fights, these guys, they want to earn big money. And you can only do that with making the best fight the best. Best fights the best, and we find out who is the best."

Stepping into the ring, Hrgovic congratulated Dubois on his win before addressing the media. He said: "It was an easy night for Daniel. He did a good job, quick win, so he's ready to fight me in March, right Daniel?"
When asked about the prospect of fighting Hrgovic, Dubois responded: "I want to have a rematch with him, I want to get that belt. I want to get my old belt back and rule the division. It's another win I need to have, another scalp on my belt."
Warren was apprehensive to announce a definite fight between the two, but did reaffirm his stance on unification bouts in 2027.

Asked if the rematch came too soon for him, Wardley replied: "No, not in the slightest, not at all. I came in, I didn't execute the game plan properly, that's all.
"I hold my hands up to that, it's entirely down to me. When I step through the ropes, it's only myself. It's only me bouncing around in the ring and doing everything. There's no blame to be passed around.
"When I win, it's all me as well. We'll go back to the drawing board as a team, there's no shame in losing to a great competitor like Daniel."

Giving Dubois his flowers, Wardley said: "It's never fun to lose, but it is what it is, the game's the game. I've always thrown myself in with the best competitors out there, with the best in the business, the toughest, the biggest, hardest, meanest cards around.
"There's no shame in a loss when you're putting yourself in and testing yourself against the best. Daniel's a testament to coming up short and coming again, and I'll be looking to do exactly the same thing."

"I've got to say Fabio Wardley, what a brave guy. His heart is unbelievable, but it was Daniel's night. It's a superb performance, a powerful performance and next year we're going to see some more great fights, some big fights, and Fabio will come back as well."

It's a case of two and through for Dubois - Wardley never quite looked up for that one.
'DDD' living by that 'Dynamite' moniker, real power in that right hand in particular. No rubber match needed, that one was a clinic.

Dubois gets up from the stool with confidence, back on the front foot and straight back into the fire. Wardley is still swinging back, but nothing is coming off for the Ipswich-born brawler.
Dubois capitalises on big misses from his opponent, ruthlessly directing hooks at Wardley and instantly backing him up to the ropes.
The towel goes in as Wardley finds himself trapped in the corner, and it's all over!!!

Dubois cracks Wardley within 20 seconds with a hard right hand! While the challenger makes it back to his feet, he's on shaky legs and looks incredibly tentative.
'DDD' piles on the pressure, quickly backing Wardley up against the ropes. The challenger weathers the storm, but is still completely off balance.
While Wardley makes round two, it's a case of complete domination from Dubois, who picks and chooses his opportunities wisely.
A late flurry forces Steve Gray to take an incredibly close look, the champion raining down brutal blows. But it's a case of saved by the bell.

The main event is almost among us, with Dubois and Wardley expected to make their ringwalks in the coming minutes as they do battle for the WBO heavyweight title.
As Rob Beckett so graciously put it, we're also hoping that both men leave the London O2 fit and healthy after an absolute "humdinger" of a fight!

Some scrap, but a strange result to say the very, very least.
Not sure that anyone in the O2 or watching around the world thought that was a draw by any stretch of the imagination - O'Doherty struggling with the pace, size and power of Gomez Jr for the full 12 rounds.
One judge scored it 115-114 Gomez Jr, while the other two had it level at 114-114 - meaning the belts stay with O'Doherty via majority draw.
Baffling decision, considering many will feel that the challenger did more than enough to get it over the line.

Asked on Fight Your Corner podcast in partnership with Midnite regarding the timing of Wardley and Dubois running it back, Don Charles said: “Yes, I was surprised. But when I digested it, there's boxing and there's the boxing business.
“So, in terms of boxing, I think it's too premature for Fabio to have a rematch. But when you look at the business side of it, I make him right to take it.”

Olaniyan fought as if he had a bus to catch from the outset, as he chased Garber around the ring looking for a finishing blow. The 41-year-old was saved by the bell at the end of the first, Olaniyan catching his opponent with a stiff right, but the onslaught proved far too much in the second.
Garber’s corner threw the towel in when their fighter was dropped with a hard straight right early into the round, only for the referee to sweep it out of the ring with her foot amid protests that the ‘Reaper Man’ wished to continue. A second towel flying in when Garber was spent spiralling with a well-placed hook on the ear was too much to ignore, however, with the bout stopped there and then.
This kid has a bright, bright future.

After a slow bout for the majority, Jalolov gets the job done under the bright lights of the capital. The Uzbek looked cool and composed as he stalked Dacres around the ring for the majority of the bout, biding his time for an opportunity to land that big shot.
A sign of that came in the fifth, with the ‘Big Uzbek’ dropping his opponent with a venomous straight left down the pipe from southpaw. While Dacres made the count, the Englishman still looked to be on shaky feet as he looked to survive the round - a feat he managed albeit with a heavily compromised nose for his troubles.
Unfortunately, that was as good as it got, with the fight going the distance with largely little else happening there after, minus Dacres’ shorts splitting in the eighth.
While impressively composed throughout, it would have been nice to see Jalolov moving through the gears rather than cruising to a unanimous decision win, the judges scoring the contest 99-91, 99-90 and 99-90 in his favour.

The 'Real Deal' may have successfully slipped a big blow from Jalolov in the eighth, but his shorts burst apart at the scenes.
That hasn't deterred him, however, as he's still going strong in the ninth round.

The 'Meal Deal' will look to build momentum and fight his way back into the title frame, while the 'Big Uzbek' will hope to keep his flawless resume in-tact and advance to 18-0 in some fashion.
This one's going to be a belter!

The ‘Sexy One’ remains undefeated as he advances to 13-0 with a clinic on bodywork. Birchall managed a knockdown in the fifth with a ruthless uppercut to the midriff, instantly trying to get the job done there and then.
While Giles weathered the storm, further trouble came the 30-year-old’s way in the very next round, with Birchall teeing off to the head relentlessly and forcing another knee. Giles once again showed a warrior’s mentality to survive to make the seventh, however, where yet another knockdown - and ultimate stoppage - arrived shortly into the round.
Birchall dazzled as he pressed Giles into the corner, mixing it up to the head and body as the Grimsby slugger folded to the canvas under relentless pressure. While Giles made the referee’s count, the official had seen enough to wave the bout off altogether.
It’s the first time that Giles has been stopped in his now 17-4-1 career.
