Dillon Danis has done it again!

The once promising BJJ practitioner and Bellator fighter was set to face Colby Covington in a grappling match at Hype Fighting in Rome on Tuesday, November 3rd. But during a press conference today, the announcers revealed that Danis had pulled out of the bout. This is Danis’ third withdrawal from a signed bout in under a year.

Hype Fighting turned those “El Jefe” lemons into lemonade by replacing Danis with Mr. Chiwiwis himself, Raul Rosas Jr.

“Unfortunately, Dillon Danis could not come,” a Hype Fighting organizer said. “If there’s someone who wants to wrestle with Colby, we can organize it.”

“I’ll do it, f--k it. Chiwiwis,” Rosas declared, walking down from the audience to face off with Covington.

Danis was scheduled to fight Mike Perry under MMA rules at a Duel Arena event on August 29th, but the unreliable troublemaker pulled out under vague circumstances, sharing an image of a cut on his arm that those who follow his antics say was weeks old. Prior to that, he pulled out of a boxing match against Anthony Taylor on a December Misfits card. The official reason given: doctors wouldn’t medically clear him to fight following a brawl in the stands at UFC 322 last November.

Danis hasn’t been a complete flake: he has competed at three Real American Freestyle events over the last eight months, losing all three matches badly. We’ll see if other promoters continue to book him given how reliably unreliable he’s become.
