Dodgers Prospect Notes: Harlan walks it off, Quintero runs wild, Morse continues scoreless streak, Horn works double duty, more

Even in a shortened week, with a game rained out and no game on Sunday, Dodgers prospects in the Arizona Fall League stood out. Chief among them was, once again, Chase Harlan.

The strength through the zone at 20 years old. Sheesh. Harlan has a .986 OPS in the Fall League
The third baseman started the week with a multi-hit effort, including a double that came off the bat at 105.5 MPH. Then, on Saturday, the 20-year-old slugger walked off the Peoria Javelinas with a 112 MPH missile, his fourth home run in the AFL. With his recent power surge, it seems likely he’ll represent the Dodgers in the Fall Stars game this weekend.

Eduardo Quintero reached base in all three games he played last week and stole at least one base every time, including three swipes in last Monday’s contest. He’d only stolen one base up until last week after ending the 2026 regular season with 44. It’s nice to see him finally getting his feet under him in the AFL.
Charles Davalan had a 4-for-14 week with a double. While his defense at second base continues to get positive reviews, he committed a pair of throwing errors on Saturday, though his arm isn’t considered an issue on the dirt. He’ll need to refine the more nuanced parts of infield play but that will come with reps.
On the mound, Brooks Auger started on Monday and allowed three runs on three hits in 2 ⅔ innings. The right-hander has shown a starter’s mix in the AFL but the command has been iffy. Lefty Luke Fox looked solid for most of his three innings on Saturday before grooving a 2-0 fastball and surrendering a two-run double.
Sam Horn pitched in two games last week. The first appearance was a quick, scoreless frame with a pair of strikeouts. His second wasn’t as easy, as the righty allowed a pair of singles which led to a pair of runs. He’s throwing his changeup more and bumped his fastball to 98 on Saturday.

Perhaps the real breakout performance for Dodgers’ prospects in the fall league has come from Cody Morse. Like Horn, the southpaw also made two appearances last week, both scoreless and both collecting two strikeouts. He’s now gone 6 ⅔ innings, allowed just two hits, walked four and struck out 13. He’s not Rule 5-eligible until next year, but a strong season in Double-A in 2027 could lead to a roster spot for the 2024 draftee.
