No more Mr. Nice Guy for “The Devastator.”

Two-time Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight title challenger Dominick Reyes scored a first-round knockout over Azamat Murzakanov in UFC 333’s “Featured Prelim” yesterday (Sat., Oct. 24, 2026) inside Etihad Arena on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (watch highlights).

During his flight home to California, Reyes had plenty of time to revisit the broadcast — and unload some long-held frustration toward former UFC champion-turned commentator Daniel Cormier.

Real talk, who actually likes hearing low-IQ, hater-ass DC?!” Reyes wrote on social media. “I have a long flight. Let’s get some truths going!”

“Sick of being the nice guy while these clowns flat-out disrespect and marginalize what I’ve done in this sport,” Reyes continued. “These so-called ‘experts.’ And no, Jon Jones didn’t whoop all of us. He whooped you! Bad! Multiple times. Kid. Calling me ‘kid.’ Motherf—ker, I’m a grown-ass man! We’re at the point where we applaud DC for knowing basic grappling moves.”

It did not take long for Cormier to respond.

“Yo, Dom, chill,” Cormier wrote. “I don’t call you ‘kid’ negatively. I’ve only spoken truth to you. When you do some amazing s—t like you did today, I praise you. If you do something like the last fight with Johnny, I speak the truth about that too. But these comments seem like you’ve been carrying something with you for a while. You can always talk to me. I’m not very hard to find.”

Cormier’s response only opened the floodgates.

“My name is Dominick, not ‘kid,’” Reyes replied. “Yeah, I heard your commentary tonight on my fight. How about the part where Paul called you out for your clear bias? And what did you do? You laughed about it.”
“No, I don’t know where to find you. I’ve literally never seen you anywhere other than around the cage or in the cage post-fight. I’m bothered by your lack of research and knowledge while commentating. Your ‘expert’ commentary sways the opinions of average fans, and that has a profound effect on our lives.”
“Your clear bias toward fighters from the Caucasus region is frustrating, especially being an American fighter.”

Cormier attempted to calm the situation one more time.

“You’re tripping, bud, and honestly, I’ll just find you for a conversation,” Cormier wrote. “I actually like you. I told your team how amazing you looked tonight. This may have been your best performance. But this is insane. Just stop! Seriously.”

Reyes was not interested in making peace.

“I’m not your buddy, guy,” Reyes responded. “But seriously, I don’t care if you like me, truly. I only care that you have unbiased, well-informed color commentary. I will stop now, but not because you asked me to.”

Reyes did not quite go full Josh Hokit, but he clearly has been sitting on these frustrations for a long time — and one emphatic knockout finally convinced him to let everything fly.

“The Devastator” is now riding a two-fight winning streak and has won five of his last six appearances, with his only defeat during that stretch coming against current champion Carlos Ulberg.

Reyes appeared to be closing in on another title opportunity before Ulberg stopped his momentum. With the Light Heavyweight division still desperately searching for fresh challengers, one more victory could put him right back into the championship conversation in 2027.

Just don’t expect Cormier to narrate the comeback without hearing about it afterward.
