MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A big expansion is underway for Edgewood University.

The school broke ground on Thursday on a new $30 million athletic and wellness campus in Fitchburg.

The 40-acre property will include fields for baseball, softball, soccer and lacrosse, along with track and field facilities and an indoor golf training space.

The university also plans to restore 12 acres of wetlands.

The space won’t just be for athletes.

The new campus will offer more recreation and wellness opportunities for students and the greater Madison community.
