Everything we know about Penrith’s Preliminary Final

Penrith’s victory over the Roosters on Sunday has confirmed Ivan Cleary’s team’s place in a seventh straight Preliminary Final.
The Panthers will get the week off this week, along with the Dolphins who defeated the New Zealand Warriors.
Penrith will play the winner of this Sunday’s clash between the Warriors and Knights at Eden Park.
While the NRL has not yet confirmed the schedule for week three of the Finals, it is highly likely Penrith’s clash against either the Warriors or Knights will be on Sunday, September 26 at 4.05pm.
The Warriors and Knights playing on Sunday means a Friday night slot for the Preliminary Final is unlikely given the five-day turnaround, while Saturday is expected to be out as a result of the NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Grand Finals, which were expected to have stand-alone status.
The match will be live on Fox Sports and Channel Nine.
Accor Stadium is almost certainly the venue for the Preliminary Final.
While CommBank Stadium is an outside possibility, the Panthers have expressed their desire for the match to be at Accor.
And the NRL likely wants the match their too – regardless of the opponent, there would be hopes of a crowd in excess of 40,000.
While there was a time the Preliminary Final would go on sale prior to the second week of the Finals, that is no longer the case.
Tickets will go on sale to members at 10am on Monday, September 21 and to the general public on Tuesday.
Accor Stadium members will receive an email soon outlining their access to tickets.
The NRL is unlikely to officially confirm the Preliminary Final details until after Sunday’s clash between the Warriors and Knights at Eden Park.
