Ex-UFC star blasts UFC 332 main event as ‘the worst main event in MMA history’ as complaints continue

Ever since it was announced, the UFC 332 event in Utah has been receiving a lot of criticism from fans.
This past weekend during the UFC Paris broadcast, the promotion announced their full UFC 332 card, which is set to go down from Salt Lake City on October 3.
It was announced that after Valentina Shevchenko vacated her women’s flyweight title, Natalia Silva and Wang Cong will headline the event with a vacant title fight.
With that, the card has received a lot of criticism online from fans, and now former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub has given his views on the event.
Ever since his retirement from the sport, Schaub has remained in the public eye for his not so popular YouTube channel.
During a recent episode on his channel, Schaub branded UFC 332 as the ‘worst main event in MMA history’, not even just UFC history.
“It’s like the UFC got the ball to the one-yard line and then said, ‘f— it’ and gave up,” he began.
Despite his initial comment about the card, the former heavyweight went on to break down the prelim portion of the event, claiming that the prelims are ‘stacked’.
“They’ve put this great card together and then we get to the main event and again, they march the ball all the way to the one and say, ‘Nah, we’re out, we don’t need to score’.
“It’s better that the PPV model isn’t around anymore in America, but this is the by-product… This is the downside… Natalia Silva and Wang Cong… Let me tell you UFC, I’m trying not to be disrespectful but you’re making it tough. If Wang Cong was fighting at P Terries five minutes from my house on Saturday night giving out free cheeseburgers and then fighting Natalia Silva, I wouldn’t show up.
“If they were five minutes from my house and you offered me $100 to watch their fight, I wouldn’t turn up… This is so discouraging and disheartening that this is the main event… If I’m Utah I’m like, I’m not paying for the UFC anymore.
“Wang Cong has no business fighting for an undisputed championship… Look at this bulls—… This is on CBS, kids… It’s a tragedy of a main event, it’s hands down the worst main event in mixed martial arts history, not UFC, mixed martial arts history,” he continued.
Light heavyweight contender Paulo Costa was planning on ‘saving’ the UFC 332 event, but the UFC rejected his offer.
And this past Tuesday night, the promotion added the final fight to the event, which includes recent Dana White’s Contender Series contract winner, Anthony Wint.
