Next year’s Formula One schedule has been officially announced. Bahrain is set to kick off the F1 calendar, with the British Grand Prix set to take place during Wimbledon. The recent British GP at Silverstone was held at the start of July and was a highlight of the summer sporting calendar. An F1 record crowd attended Silverstone across that weekend, with an eye-watering 564,000 spectators heading to the iconic track.
The race occurred during the midpoint of Wimbledon, meaning avid sports fans avoided an agonising decision between the British GP and the men’s tennis final the following weekend. The events look set to clash once again, with the Silverstone race set to take place from July 2 to July 4, while Wimbledon will run from June 28 to July 11.

The Daily Mail reports that Silverstone chief executive Stuart Pringle is happy to overlap Wimbledon, with the circuit willingly agreeing to host F1 action in early July.
The Bahrain GP will kick the season off on March 14. The intention is for the race to be held in Bahrain, if possible, unlike this year’s event, which will see the Bahrain GP take place in Malaysia next month. The current season began with the Australian GP in March.
The 24-date F1 calendar is then set to head to Saudi Arabia from March 19 to March 21 before travelling to Australia on April 2 to April 4. The Monaco GP is once again set to be held in June, despite traditionally taking place in May.
Elsewhere, the total of Sprint races increases from six to 10. And Portugal's Portimao and Turkey's Istanbul Park return to the calendar.
Zandvoort's Dutch Grand Prix drops off while the Belgian Grand Prix will return at Spa before falling off in 2028, replaced in a rotational deal by the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

This year’s record crowd at Silverstone shows that the British GP thrived in a similar July spot. Back in 2019, Lewis Hamilton spoke out about the race’s place in the calendar as it fell on the same day as the Cricket World Cup and men's Wimbledon finals.
“What I don’t understand is why the organisers put the race on the same day as all these other big events,” Hamilton said. “I really don’t understand it.
“This is such a special weekend, it needs all the focus of the whole country and just not a small amount. I think people will be switching between channels on Sunday, not sure what to watch.
“But naturally I come here… there’s quite a few of us Brits but we come here to raise the flag and do the country proud so I’m just going to try and play my part.”
