First Test LIVE: Renshaw shrugs off Aussie batting order ‘issue’

It’s stumps in Durban early because of bad light once again.
South Africa finishes the day 1-27 after Ryan Rickelton attempted a wild drive outside off stump from Josh Hazlewood’s bowling. Beau Webster took the catch in the slips.
Aiden Markram finishes 15 not out and David Bedingham has 12.
Earlier there was a review burned from Australia after a big lbw appeal on Aiden Markram.
The umpire said not out as it appeared there was two noises.
Cummins was convinced and reviewed but the umpire was proved right and Markram stayed.

Matt Renshaw’s incredible innings has ended two balls after tea.
Simon Harmer takes the wicket after Renshaw attempted a big drive and nicked to Aiden Markram.
“I do feel for him though, he deserved 200 ... the tea break probably came at the wrong time for him,” Shaun Pollock said on the ABC.
In the end, it was a break that broke the concentration of Renshaw.
Australia finishes all out for 390.
Pollock went on to call Renshaw’s ton an “old-fashioned knock ... it was just sublime, he was in full control.”

After a review of a boundary, which was eventually called a four, Matt Renshaw now has a new highest score after moving to 186.
His highest score was the 184 he made in 2017 early in his Test career.
That makes for two big tons in his time with the baggy green.
The tea break has been extended too as South Africa searches for the final wicket.
The ninth-wicket partnership between Nathan Lyon and Matt Renshaw has ended after the former was trapped lbw from Marco Jansen.
Lyon knew he was gone but reviewed it anyway.
Ball tracking showed it was hitting a quarter of the way up middle stump.
“I don’t think I’ve seen a more plumb lbw,” Jason Gillespie said on the ABC.
The partnership of 134 runs is the highest ninth-wicket partnership against South Africa and the highest at this ground.

That’s 150 now for Matt Renshaw.
It’s come off 311 balls and he brought it up with a reverse sweep off Keshav Maharaj. Another four in this innings for him. It’s been outstanding.
Asked what they’ll do with the batting order, Jason Gillespie says that Cameron Green comes back in to No.5 when he’s fit and Renshaw goes back up the order.
With a single down to long-on from Matt Renshaw, the partnership is now at 100 runs.
“This could be the game-defining partnership, without a doubt, it’s been absolutely brilliant,” Jason Gillespie said on the ABC.
Lyon has contributed 17 runs to it.
“These types of partnerships from a fielding and bowling perspective are really painful,” Gillespie added.
