Amid rumors of a potential fight, Ryan Garcia said he's set to go up against Floyd Mayweather.

"Trust me at first I thought this was bull***," Garcia wrote on social media. "But it's real. Floyd and I agree to a fight 147 for the WBC welterweight championship of the world. 50-0 vs The current champ."

Garcia also shared a photo of him and Mayweather FaceTiming.

Garcia provided more details about the fight on his Instagram.

"Just got off the phone with (Mayweather)," he said. "Talking about fighting - it's real and he wants to do a real fight 147. He and I both agreed to post this! Let's Rumble. This will be for the 147 WBC world championship I made that very clear and Floyd and I agreed to fight."

According to Uncrowned's Darshan Desai, there have been "no serious negotiations" about the fight yet, but it seems the two have at least made a verbal agreement.

Talks of a potential fight began earlier this month, when Garcia confirmed it was in the works.

Garcia clarified from the jump that he wasn't willing to fight Mayweather in an exhibition.

"And no I wouldn't do an exhibition I want his 0 on the f--king line," he wrote on social media. "How much does he actually think he got left. I'm ready Floyd, remember you made this call. I'm just returning the favor. Offer is on the table. Accept or not, if not I move foward as I have been."

Mayweather has not commented publicly on the fight.

The 49-year-old Mayweather is 50-0 in his career with 27 knockouts, but hasn't fought professionally since 2017, when he defeated Conor McGregor via knockout.

Garcia, meanwhile, is 28 years old and in the prime of his career, recording a 26-2 record with 21 knockouts. He's coming off back-to-back wins, beating Mario Barrios in February via unanimous decision for the WBC welterweight title and Conor Benn last month via knockout.

Given the massive age gap, Garcia would surely be the favorite against Mayweather.
