Forest vs Arsenal referee has already made mistake in Oliver Glasner's favour this season

Nottingham Forest take on Arsenal this weekend, with the referee for the clash at the City Ground now revealed by the Premier League.
After Nottingham Forest lost to Crystal Palace, Oliver Glasner needs points quickly, and this coming weekend, it may be a tough ask as Premier League holders Arsenal visit the City Ground.
But Forest are way better than the results show and could quite feasibly give Arsenal a real tough outing and take points off Mikel Arteta’s side. What will also give Glasner some confidence is the appointment of a referee who has already benefited Forest this season.
The Premier League official website has confirmed which officials will be taking charge of which games this weekend for match-day seven in the 2026/27 Premier League campaign.
It will be the experienced Michael Oliver who is refereeing the game, and this could be a welcome sight for Glasner, considering the last time that he was in charge of a Forest game.
Back in September, during match day two, Forest drew with Liverpool 2-2 at Anfield, with a controversial penalty decision giving Glasner the draw. Michael Oliver was on VAR and failed to intervene as referee Sam Barrott awarded Forest a contentious penalty after Alisson challenged Neco Williams.
Mark Clattenburg said it was a penalty, with Oliver not sending the referee to the monitor for review. But then, in the aftermath, the Premier League’s Key Match Incidents (KMI) panel determined that Barrott’s on-field decision was incorrect and Oliver had made an error by not recommending an on-field review.
This point has been huge for Forest this season, as without it, Glasner would be sitting a point above relegation, which is a false placement of this Forest side anyway, with Glasner’s side performing well enough to warrant a top-four place at this stage in the season.
However, Forest shouldn’t expect any favours from Oliver this weekend, considering how Arsenal tend to be lucky with decisions and have been for a couple of seasons now.
But we would expect a tight game, Forest are better than results show.
