Former boxing world champion Lee Selby makes BKB Bare Knuckle return at BKB 61 in London

Welsh boxing legend Lee Selby is returning to the BKB trigon this November in London for a major headliner.

Former IBF featherweight champion in traditional boxing, Selby made the switch to BKB Bare Knuckle earlier this year where he scored a brutal knockout in Cardiff. He needed just two rounds to take out Italian Antonio Rizzo with a brutal body shot that saw the 39-year-old roll back the clock.

McGregor has just one fight left in the UFC before he is free to fight wherever he wants.

Now, ‘Lightning Lee’ is back and taking on an as-yet unnamed opponent as he looks to build towards a world title shot in 2027. The event takes place on November 14 at the indigo inside London’s famous O2 Arena.

Following his quick win over an opponent 14 years his junior last time out, Selby is now getting back in the trigon in London. He retired from the gloved game in 2022, but showed that he still has lots to offer in the fast-growing promotion.

Asked after the fight if he wants a shot at the promotion’s belt, Selby replied on the night: “Yes, I do. I want to avenge my good friend and sparring partner, Kallum Shkhane and the loss when he fought for the world title.

“I thought he was very unlucky to get stopped just before the bell when I thought he was winning on points.”

He is being given the chance to take one step forward, saying in a press release: “I’m excited to be back in the Trigon and to have the opportunity to fight in London again. I already know exactly what BKB is all about, and I’m looking forward to getting back in there. I’m ready to put on a great night for the fans.”

CEO David Tetreault added: “Lee Selby is a proven world champion and one of the biggest names in boxing, so having him back in the Trigon for BKB 61 is a huge moment for us. London is the perfect stage for a fighter of his calibre, and we know the fans will create an incredible atmosphere.

“As BKB continues to expand globally, attracting champions and boxing stars like Lee is a strong testament of our growth and momentum as the world’s largest bare knuckle boxing organization.”
