‘Going out on a limb’ – Fans name who they think will win the 2026 WNBA Finals

The WNBA is back on our screens this week after a break for the FIBA World Cup, but the regular season is almost over.
Most teams now have just three or four regular season ties to play before this year’s playoffs get underway.
The eight teams for the playoffs are already confirmed, though their positions in the top eight can still change in the coming games.
Now, with the WNBA campaign coming to a close, fans have been asked who they think will emerge as champions in 2026, and there are a lot of differing opinions.
Yahoo Sports recently made a tweet asking ‘Who’s your pick to win the 2026 WNBA championship?’.
Minnesota Lynx are listed as the current favourites, while the Indiana Fever were placed fifth.
But one fan still suggested it could come down to whoever wins out of the Fever and the Atlanta Dream, writing: “I’m going out on a limb and saying the Dream/Fever series winner wins the championship. I think it is a toss-up.”

Another asked: “Lynx favoured again, but can anyone challenge their throne?”
“I am personally rooting for Indiana. However, I am going to have to say Minnesota,” commented a third.
A fourth stated: “I would go with the Lynx but the thing is, if the Aces can get to the Championship, I don’t see A’ja, Jackie, and Chelsea losing.”
Another claimed: “If the Aces would’ve kept Chennedy, they would be my pick, but I think the Dream can definitely make it.”
From the source A sixth wrote: “I can’t choose between the Aces and Valkyries,” with another tweeting: “I’m rolling with the @AtlantaDream.”
The Las Vegas Aces are the current champions after beating Phoenix Mercury in the 2025 finals.
They have won three of the last four WNBA Finals, with the New York Liberty picking up the victory in 2024.
