Hull KR make first signing of Nathan Cayless era as competition's 'best centre' joins

Hull KR have made their first signing of the Nathan Cayless era, with NRL outside back Moala Graham-Taufa joining the Robins on a two-year deal.

The 24-year-old will link up with Rovers' squad for the 2027 and 2028 seasons, signing from South Sydney Rabbitohs. He is the first arrival of what will be a new-look squad under Cayless, who replaces outgoing coach Wille Peters, next season.

As well as the Rabbitohs, Graham-Taufa has also featured for Sydney Roosters and New Zealand Warriors during his career, making seven NRL appearances since his 2021 debut and scoring one try.

Born in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2002, he can operate in both the centre and wing spots and offers welcome depth and competition to a backline that has lost Joe Burgess but still contains the likes of Tom Davies, Peta Hiku, and Oliver Gildart.

He has featured for the Rabbitohs' New South Wales Cup side in 2026, with Cayless believing he has been the 'best centre' in the competition this season. He also played twice in the NRL.

Speaking on his move to Hull KR, Graham-Taufa said: “This is an opportunity for me to prove myself in the Super League and take on a new challenge.

“I think I’ll bring a lot of energy to the group and I’m excited to pull on the Hull KR jersey and represent the club and the fans.

Cayless added: “In my opinion, Moala has been the best centre in the NSW Cup in 2026.

“The attributes that attracted me to him are his powerful running, his tackle-breaking ability and the fact he’s a try-scorer. These are things that will complement what we already have and help us continue to improve the squad.”
