‘I feel bad’... Nate Diaz breaks his silence on Conor McGregor’s disastrous comeback fight

Nate Diaz has finally had his say on Conor McGregor’s 69-second comeback fight.
‘Notorious’ returned from a five-year layoff to face Max Holloway at UFC 329 on July 11.
Conor McGregor tore his ACL when he opened the fight with a flying kick, which resulted in him suffering a quick TKO loss.
'Notorious' suffered a serious knee injury moments into his comeback fight against Max Holloway.
Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor share one of the most legendary rivalries in UFC history.
They are currently tied 1-1, and a trilogy seems almost certain to take place at some point.
For now, Diaz just feels sorry for his old rival, who is facing another 12 months on the sidelines.
“Conor is a f—er, but Conor is a fighter,” the 41-year-old told MMA Junkie on Monday.
“He’s someone you want to see. I’m not trying to kill him off. I’m not trying to be killed off by a guy trying to make a comeback. I’m trying to fight a big fight to move up in the fight program.
“I feel bad for him. I hope he does good. Positive vibes for the comeback.
“I’ll start whooping a– and doing good, and then I’m going to whoop his a–.”
Nate Diaz ended his 15-year stay with the UFC after submitting Tony Ferguson in September 2022.
Conor McGregor will follow him into free agency after having one more fight with MMA’s premier promotion.
The former dual-weight champion recently ruled out re-signing with the UFC when his current contract expires.
“Bare-knuckle Fighting Championship is unstoppable at the moment,” McGregor said on Saturday.
“What a few months we’ve had and God bless it. God bless true fighting.
“I can’t wait to do it. One more to go. One more to go, and the Mac Daddy is free.”
