Ilia Topuria suggests Justin Gaethje cheated when personally issuing medical and return update

Ilia Topuria has posted a message on X for the first time since June.

On September 9, Dana White said that Topuria is ready to fight again after taking time to recover from the damage he took in his first loss.

This claim that ‘El Matador’ can now begin his comeback was disputed by his coach, who revealed that Topuria will be good to go from February of next year.

The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion has now taken it upon himself to share an update, though this wasn’t the only point he wanted to make in his latest post.

In his first post after losing the lightweight title and his undefeated record in June, Ilia Topuria spoke about his story with Justin Gaethje being “far from over”.

Topuria’s team have made it clear that the Gaethje rematch is the fight they’re pushing for following one of the best fights of the year on the White House lawn.

The latest statement put out by ‘El Matador’ suggests that he may have a different theory on why he lost at UFC Freedom 250 to the consensus.

“Final medical tests done. I’m back,” Topuria wrote on X. “To all the clowns who’ve been talking s— and counting me out this whole time, here I am. Now let’s see who’s got the balls.

“Thanks to everyone for the support. Next time I’ll make sure they check Justin’s gloves so he doesn’t put anything weird on them. See you soon.”

Gaethje previously laughed off a theory that circulated online about him having something in his gloves and chose to take this as a compliment.

'The Highlight' stopped Ilia Topuria to finally become a UFC champion at the White House.

In a second post, as if it wasn’t clear, Topuria let it be known that there is no love lost between him, the current champion, and the champion’s manager.

“By the way Justin, f— you. And Ali [Abdelaziz], f— you too.”

After the fight, Gaethje shut down the idea of an immediate rematch with Topuria while speaking highly of the former champion.

Abdelaziz has made similar statements about Topuria needing to earn his shot, which could be why he’s been targeted in this latest post.
