Iskandar Investment Bhd, partners raise RM130,000 for Johor Sports Council

Iskandar Investment Bhd (IIB) and its corporate partners recently raised RM130,000 for the Johor Sports Council (MSNJ) at a golf tournament.
The sum, raised at the investment holding firm’s “IIB20 Golf Invitational 2026” held in conjunction with its 20th-anniversary celebrations, will provide additional resources to support the training and development of more than 1,000 athletes in the state.
IIB CEO Idzham Hashim said the anniversary was a moment not only to honour two decades of meaningful partnerships and collective achievements, but also to extend the benefits of its growth to the wider community.
“Our role extends beyond developing projects and attracting investments. We have also sought to ensure that the progress we create translates into opportunities and tangible benefits for the communities around us.”
Idzham said that since 2024, IIB had contributed approximately RM3.5 million through zakat, sponsorships and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
These initiatives have benefited more than 90,000 people and communities in Johor, he said.
“For IIB, meaningful development is not measured solely by investment value or physical development. It is also about the opportunities we create and the difference they make in people’s lives.”
Meanwhile, MSNJ director Hasnul Atmam Othman said collaborations between the public and private sectors played a key role in strengthening Johor’s sports development ecosystem.
The development of athletes requires sustained support and collaboration from all parties, he said.
“The contribution from IIB and its corporate partners will support sports development programmes and the provision of sports equipment to the Johor state sports associations, further strengthening the capabilities and performance of athletes under MSNJ.”
