Jake Paul hints at Michael ‘Venom’ Page move after UFC exit with ‘bring MVP to MVP’ message

Jake Paul may have found another UFC fighter to target after Michael “Venom” Page became a free agent. Paul, whose Most Valuable Promotions recently joined forces with the Professional Fighters League, appears interested in bringing the former UFC middleweight into his growing MMA setup. Page left the UFC after his contract ended despite winning four straight fights. His departure came days after he beat Nursulton Ruziboev in Paris. Paul then sent a short message that immediately raised questions about his plans. “Think it’s time to bring MVP to MVP,” Paul wrote, hinting at a possible move for Page.

Page joined the UFC in March 2024 after spending around a decade with Bellator. He quickly became one of the promotion’s better-known names and built a strong run after losing to Ian Machado Garry. The 39-year-old had won four straight fights before his UFC contract came to an end. His latest victory came against Ruziboev in Paris, where Page won by decision.Despite that run, UFC CEO Dana White confirmed that Page would not be returning.“That was his last fight on his contract. I don’t think we’re signing him, no. What’s the confusion? I think it’s been pretty clear that he wasn’t being re-signed, and he would be taken out of the rankings because he’s no longer on the roster,” White said.

Page had only one UFC loss, but some of his fights were criticized for not producing enough action. Page himself admitted after his win over Ruziboev that he needed to take more chances inside the cage.

“There is no one in the world who can strike with me, but then again, there are too many people who can survive with me,” Page said. “That’s the problem. That’s what I need to change. My output needs to change. I need to take a lot more risks. I need to doctor my style and do more—adapt it so people feel more comfortable coming forward.”Page had hoped to speak with UFC officials and show that he could produce more exciting fights. Instead, he is now free to consider other promotions.

Page already has another combat sports appearance lined up. He is scheduled to make his freestyle wrestling debut against Alexander Shlemenko at RAF 14 on October 23.His background also gives him options in kickboxing and boxing. Page previously competed in BKFC, where he lost to former UFC fighter Mike Perry in 2024.Another possible destination could be the MMA promotion launched by Scott Coker. Coker previously ran Strikeforce and later became Bellator’s CEO before the promotion became part of the PFL. Page also competed under Coker during his Bellator career.

However, Jake Paul’s MVP could be one of the more interesting options.Paul has been pushing deeper into MMA since MVP joined the PFL. The promotion has also continued building its roster while using a reported 50% revenue-sharing model with fighters.Paul has been open about wanting to challenge the UFC’s position in combat sports. He has also suggested that he could eventually compete in MMA himself.During an interview aimed at White, Paul said, “Dana, we’re coming for you, baby. Come on. I know you’re losing sleep, Dana.”Now Page is available at a time when Paul is looking to build his MMA roster. Page brings years of experience, a recognizable name and a striking style that could fit well with MVP.Paul’s message does not confirm that a deal is coming. But if the two sides can agree on terms, Page could have another major promotion ready to give him a fresh start after his UFC run.
