Keeper the hero as Mile Oak bag a point at Selsey

The Oak began the game well without being over threatening but a good start was undone in the Seals’ first real attack as the ball fell kindly for the dangerous Freddie Chipp-Smith who outpaced the Oak defence and crossed for Charlie Brook to tap in on 21 minutes.
The rest of the half saw few chances created for either side although Chipp-Smith always looked capable of causing problems.
The second half began with Oak in the ascendancy, increasingly dominating the play. Eventually their intensity was rewarded with a fine goal on 80 minutes, Wes Tighe’s fine cross was headed home by substitute Matt Wilson.
As the away side looked to push on they were unfortunate to be on the end of a harsh penalty award, Liam Dance handling as he fell on the ball. Justice appeared to served when young keeper Pat Sessions guessed correctly and held on to Bradley Higgins-Pearce’s spot kick.
The game became scrappy as Oak struggled to regain composure although they had the best of the final exchanges.
Oak boss Keiran Ridley said: “I’m pleased overall with the point in the circumstances but feels a little like two dropped given the way the game ended. We were knocking on the door but wasn’t to be.
“Pat’s penalty save was outstanding, that’s his second in a key moment recently after saving one v Worthing United too.
“It was a harsh penalty I felt, Liam Dance was going to ground and you’re allowed to break your fall with your arm and it not be handball. But it was given and fortunately, Pat was the hero."
