Khabib Nurmagomedov sparks comeback rumors by ‘accidentally meeting’ UFC boss Hunter Campbell

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s latest post on social media has excited MMA fans.

‘The Eagle’ retired after choking out Justin Gaethje to unify the lightweight division at UFC 254 in October 2020.

Six years later, many fight fans are still hoping to see Khabib Nurmagomedov return to the Octagon.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has emphatically and repeatedly insisted he will never have another MMA fight.

Still, UFC fans get excited every time he is seen training or meeting with his former bosses.

On Saturday, Nurmagomedov shared a picture of himself and UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell.

“Accidentally meeting,” the Russian legend wrote alongside the photo he shared on his Instagram Story.

The image quickly made its way to X, where fans excitedly speculated about Khabib’s potential return.

“Khabib schools Justin,” one fan wrote. While another added: “It was not accidental.”

“We need a fight,” a third person commented.

“Something big is cooking by Hunter,” someone else wrote.

“Just happened to accidentally walk into his office,” another X user tweeted.

“An ‘accidental’ meeting with Hunter Campbell lol. Khabib doesn’t do anything by accident, something’s getting cooked up.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s meeting with Hunter Campbell was most likely about his cousin.

Usman Nurmagomedov is the hottest free agent in MMA after the expiration of his PFL contract.

The 22-0 (1NC) lightweight has been talking up his potential move to the UFC for months.

PFL’s 155lb champion was in the crowd at UFC 333 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night.

All signs point to him joining MMA’s premier promotion soon, but Dana White insists a deal has not been discussed due to an exclusive negotiation period with the PFL.

“I don’t know where he is on his contract situation,” the UFC CEO said after UFC 333.

“I just said, whenever the f— I said it a couple of days ago, that when his contract is up and he can negotiate, we will start talking to him.”
