Khamzat Chimaev’s undefeated protégé says he’d beat Justin Gaethje today after winning title at 21

Ansar Khamzaev believes he’s the best in the world following his LFA title win.

Paddy Pimblett is hoping to get a second shot at Justin Gaethje before the current UFC lightweight champion hangs up the gloves.

We still don’t know whether ‘The Highlight’ is going to fight again, though that hasn’t stopped the likes of Alexander Volkanovski from mentioning Gaethje’s name.

The American certainly won’t be around by the time that Khamzaev makes it to the top of the division, though the Russian-born rising star believes that he’s already on that level.

On his third attempt, Justin Gaethje finally became the undisputed lightweight champion, pulling off one of the biggest upsets in combat sports history👏🏼

Khamzat Chimaev said Ansar Khamzaev will be a future champion if he continues working hard when having the young fighter be a part of his team earlier this year.

It looks like the undefeated rising star has no intentions of slowing down, with Khamzaev moving to 6-0 in May by winning in just 96 seconds.

The 21-year-old once again passed the toughest test of his career to date with flying colors when making his return on Friday night.

At LFA 245, ‘Borz’ produced his fifth win via submission, catching Juliano Prescendo in a D’arce choke in the first round to become the promotion’s new lightweight champion.

It was another incredibly impressive performance from Khamzaev, who told Rashad Evans in his post-fight interview that he believes he’s already better than the UFC’s titleholder at 155 pounds.

“I feel amazing. I’m already tired of beating these guys,” he said. “Give me Brazilians, Americans, the best fighters in the world. I’ll beat them anyway. I told you, right now, if Justin Gaethje [was] put in this cage, I’ll beat him. That’s how confident I am. I’m the best in the world. Nobody train like me, I live in the gym.”

Fans praised Ansar Khamzaev as a ‘future UFC champ’ and ‘different animal’ when reacting to his latest win at LFA 245.

The way he demonstrated every aspect of his skillset in three minutes was highlighted, with his performance being described as ‘flawless’ after he made it look ‘easy’.

It seems inevitable that all of the top promotions in the sport will be trying to secure his signature in the near future.

‘They need to sign him ASAP,’ wrote one fan on X, with another posting, ‘Has to be signed very soon, no other option’.
