Khamzat Chimaev teammate gets UFC return at MSG months after allegedly attacking DWCS star in hotel

Baisangur Susurkaev’s recent antics haven’t cost him a big opportunity.
The teammate of former UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev was among the names who had their next fight confirmed on Saturday night.
During the broadcast of UFC 331, the promotion unveiled the lineup for the annual November numbered event at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Susurkaev will join the likes of Stephen Thompson and Kevin Holland on the undercard of Ciryl Gane’s heavyweight title defense against Josh Hokit, despite the Chechen fighter’s recent controversy.
Susurkaev has won all three of his UFC fights since earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2025.
Chimaev’s undefeated teammate passed his toughest test so far at UFC 328 this past May, where he submitted Djorden Santos to extend his perfect professional record to 11-0.
‘The Real Hunter’ now has two submissions and one knockout in the promotion, but it was his actions outside of the Octagon that recently made headlines.
Susurkaev was accused of slapping Namo Fazil at the fighter hotel prior to the ‘Grandson of Saladin’s’ loss on DWCS in August.
White addressed the incident involving Susurkaev and insisted things had been dealt with behind the scenes.
There has evidently been no disciplinary action taken against the Chechen prospect, who still has a major chance to boost his stock on the UFC 334 card.
Susurkaev will compete on the prelims at MSG against Donte Johnson, a fellow undefeated middleweight who has also won three UFC bouts since a triumph on DWCS.
Many remain skeptical about Susurkaev’s potential in the UFC three fights into his tenure.
But with Chimaev among those helping to develop his skills, ‘The Real Hunter’ may have the tools to make a real splash at 185 pounds.
His next hurdle will be taking the ‘0’ of another promising prospect in the 9-0 Johnson.
