Leeds United given fresh big backing for Man United visit in recognition of Whites

Leeds United have been given big fresh backing for Sunday’s massive visit of Roses rivals Manchester United in more recognition of Daniel Farke’s Whites.
Leeds saw their unbeaten start to their second season back in the Premier League ended in Saturday’s clash at defending champions Arsenal who survived a huge scare in falling 1-0 behind as they fought back to claim a 2-1 victory.
Another massive match now awaits one week later with Sunday’s visit of arch rivals Manchester United, ahead of which the bookies have provided big fresh backing for Leeds in making them favourites to beat Michael Carrick’s Red Devils in the 2pm kick-off at Elland Road.
Manchester United eventually finished last season’s Premier League in third, 11 places and 24 points higher up the table than Leeds who themselves recorded an impressive 14th-placed finish in their first season back in the country’s top flight.
But the Whites look to have improved again judging by the first six games of the new campaign and further recognition from the bookies has been provided in their price to beat the stuttering Red Devils.
In Saturday’s evening kick-off, Michael Carrick’s side were pegged back by Dominic Solanke’s 92nd-minute equaliser for ten-men Tottenham Hotspur who left Old Trafford with a 1-1 draw despite having Rodrigo Bentancur sent off with 12 minutes left.
The Red Devils had led through Bryan Mbeumo’s strike but the draw left them on just six points after six games played, three less than the Whites.
But the bookies don’t think it will get much better in Sunday’s clash at Leeds who are generally speaking 7-5 favourites but as short as 6-4 with some firms.
There’s not a lot in it as Manchester United are no bigger than 7-4 and the draw is only an 11-4 shot but the market nonetheless further highlights the recent progress made by Farke’s Whites.
At this early stage, Whites no 9 Dominic Calvert-Lewin is favourite in the correct score market at 29-20, just ahead of Benjamin Sesko at 13-8.
