Legendary MMA coach says ‘time is ticking’ for Alexander Volkanovski as he makes bold UFC 333 prediction

Legendary MMA coach Mike Brown believes Alexander Volkanovski’s time at the top of the sport is coming to an end.
This coming Saturday the premier MMA promotion returns to Abu Dhabi for UFC 333, headlined by a featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Movsar Evloev.
Ahead of what is the second title defense of his second featherweight reign, Volkanovski has predicted a career-best performance, claiming that his style is perfect to combat the undefeated Russian.
Despite that, one of Evloev’s American Top Team coaches, Mike Brown, has claimed that time has caught up with ‘The Great’ Australian, and he won’t be able to keep up with the Russian for 25 minutes.
Volkanovski has a takedown defense rate of 68% and has been taken down by the likes of Brian Ortega and Diego Lopes😬
Ahead of his first title fight, the 32-year-old has received a lot of criticism from the MMA world, and even Demetrious Johnson questioned Evloev’s standing in the sport, touching on the fact that the Russian hasn’t scored a single finish in the promotion.
His ATT coach, Brown, believes that he will shock the world by dethroning Volkanovski, showing the world that Volkanovski’s ‘time is over’. “He may be arguably the greatest featherweight of all time, maybe, him or (Jose) Aldo, but I think his time is ticking, I think his time is over,” Brown told Adam Zubayraev.
“He’s not in his prime anymore, (Evloev) is in his absolute physical prime and he’s a physical monster. His conditioning is unbelievable, his strength is unbelievable, he’s got no fat he’s so strong and so quick. His endurance is through the roof, it’s a major problem to deal with this guy, for anybody… Volk isn’t the best he’s ever been and I think that’s gonna show on Saturday. In a long fight especially, something is gonna give. You can’t take Evloev for 25 minutes, nobody can,” he continued.
Although the undefeated Russian is being written off by a lot of the combat sports world, Volkanovski has credited Evloev as ‘the most dangerous’ featherweight, claiming that fighters who don’t tend to score finishes ‘sneak up on you’. The UFC has received calls to cut Evloev from the consensus greatest featherweight ever, Jose Aldo, who stated that the 32-year-old is nowhere near entertaining enough and the promotion is an ‘entertainment business’.
