Chelsea suffered a major setback with Saturday's 2-0 defeat at home to Tottenham, but they will be aiming for an immediate response in a competition that offers them a realistic chance of silverware.

Liverpool are flying in the Champions League and fourth in the Premier League, and they can ease into the EFL Cup quarter-finals with a home win over Chelsea.
Managing an intense schedule is an ongoing challenge for Reds' head coach Andoni Iraola, who is preparing his players for a third successive two-game week.
But Iraola's team have racked up four successive victories and are positioned just six points behind Premier League title favourites Arsenal, who will be on Merseyside this weekend for a high-stakes encounter.
A little more than a fortnight ago, Liverpool were ninth in the table and seemed under pressure after a 3-0 home defeat to Manchester City.
However, they looked an entirely different beast in Sunday's 2-0 triumph at home to Brighton, who never really recovered from the concession of a couple of goals inside a frantic five-minute period.
The Seagulls went into the contest eight games unbeaten and high on confidence before their wings were well and truly clipped.
But Chelsea will make the trip with a more sombre mindset as they try to get their heads around a surprise 2-0 home loss to Tottenham.
Losing to a London rival is always tough to take, but Chelsea's experience was made worse by the manner of the defeat.
They were comprehensively outmanoeuvred in the midfield exchanges and finished the contest intensely frustrated, with Cole Palmer collecting an 80th-minute red card.
Palmer's one-match ban means another enforced change to a Chelsea attack weakened by an injury to Joao Pedro - their top Premier League scorer with five goals in six top-flight appearances.
The absences of Palmer and Joao Pedro are big blows for Xabi Alonso, who may also have to consider a change of formation.
Alonso went with a 4-4-2 setup against Tottenham but it contributed to a rather confused performance with several players seemingly uncomfortable with their roles.
He could return to the three-man defence last seen in the 5-1 Premier League victory at home to Bournemouth, but that may not be enough to stem the Liverpool tide.
The Reds have had a day less to recover from their last game and that could influence team selection.
Iraola used plenty of youngsters and fringe players in the third-round tie at home to Tottenham, and the gamble paid dividends as the Reds secured a 3-1 win.
Liverpool had a strong substitutes' bench against Spurs and it eventually paid off when Dominik Szoboszlai (on as a 62nd minute replacement for James McConnell) struck the match-clinching third goal.
Szoboszlai is unavailable to face Chelsea, but the Reds will have top talent ready to come into the fray, and that could deliver a second-half improvement that turns an even contest in their favour.
Cody Gakpo was heavily linked with a summer move away from Liverpool, but he has been a key player in the early months of the season.
Gakpo scored and assisted in the EFL Cup triumph over Tottenham and could get among the goals against Chelsea.
♦ Liverpool have won six of their last seven matches♦ The Reds have started the scoring in five of their last seven games♦ Chelsea have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight fixtures♦ The Blues have lost six of their last nine away matches
