Newcastle United boss Matthias Jaissle has insisted that summer signings Bazoumana Toure and Aladji Bamba will get their chance in the coming weeks.
Both players were unused substitutes during the 1-0 win over Millwall on Carabao Cup third round night this week. And with limited minutes in the Premier League so far, fans are wondering when the duo will get an opportunity to impress.
Bamba made the £35.5million move from Monaco while Toure arrived from Hoffenheim for a fee surpassing £40m. Toure netted his first goal for the club in the second round win over West Bromwich Albion but has featured for just a minutes at the end of the 2-0 victory at Spurs.
And Bamba has made just a 14-minute cameo against Liverpool in the opening day draw at St James' Park so far. When asked about their involvement, Jaissle said: "Bazou, it's really clear, he's a young lad, came as a new signing, and he's doing a great job. You see the steps now in training; he's really committed.

"It's sometimes in football that if you have other players performing as well on a really high level, like Harvey Barnes at the moment, then you're getting a little bit less playing time."
Jaissle is hoping to bed both players into life on Tyneside but is confident that they will get the run of games fans hope for soon. The German head coach said: "We said that from the beginning, especially for the young lads and the new signings that we give them time.
“It's the same with AB for instance. We're not pushing, especially not externally, pushing them to get more minutes.
"It's normal progress and we're supporting them to getting there."

Both Bamba and Toure have contracts at Newcastle until 2031 with the club clearly trying to build a team for today and tomorrow.
Newcastle were further boosted by news that Lewis Hall had also agreed a deal for the next five years after weeks of negotiations at St James' Park.
Only last week Newcastle stated that they needed to keep trading players in order to keep up to date with SCR rules. Chief executive David Hopkinson said: "We are going to be consistently and credibly competing for those top prizes. Part of consistently competing means we've got to be compliant with the regulatory regime."
